Assessment & session
The first discussion explores concerns, relevant history, preferences and a suitable approach. The professional explains consent, privacy and its safeguarding limits. Children may engage through age-appropriate conversation or activities.
Family participation
Any between-session activity is agreed together. Families can discuss supportive routines and how to respect the individual’s privacy and preferences.
Progress & review
Review personally meaningful goals and how coping or daily participation changes. Treatment length and frequency depend on assessment; psychiatry or other referral may be appropriate.
